EPIC Cherry Springs Ranch Tour
October 21, 2018 | 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Cherry Springs Ranch
The EPIC Ranch Tour is an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Texas Hill Country with fellow conservation-minded young professionals. The tour will be led by Romey Swanson, conservation project manager for Hill Country Conservancy and will be held on Cherry Springs Ranch. Since the ranch is not open to the public, attendees will get an exclusive look at the Hill Country that won't soon be forgotten.
About Cherry Springs Ranch:
Cherry Springs Ranch is an approximately 1040-acre ranch located in Burnet & Blanco Counties and the Pedernales & Lake Travis watersheds. This working ranch is primarily used for wildlife management and encompasses the habitats of no less than 20 species of greatest conservation need in the Edwards Plateau Ecoregion. Healthy, diverse savannah and woodland habitats on the property are integral to the viability of regional natural areas. Cherry Springs Ranch is also notable for its historic significance. Dinosaur tracks have been located on the property which was once operated by famous Texan folklorist J. Frank Dobie. The pending conservation easement on Cherry Springs Ranch will permanently ensure that its water, wildlife, scenic views, and other resources remain intact and healthy for the benefit of millions of Texans forever.
